APPLICATION NOTE | SOLAR COLLECTOR & COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION ASSEMBLY

Not only for windows: when solar collector glass or refrigeration panels require controlled vertical turnover, a collapsible Agrack rack can keep the load unitized, protected and returnable—provided the panel specification, stacking plan and handling interfaces are matched.

Solar collector manufacturers and commercial refrigeration assembly plants often move rigid, finished panels through several short stages: production-line discharge, inspection, buffer storage, outbound loading and sometimes site delivery. The question is not whether a rack is labelled a “glass rack.” The question is whether the product can remain upright, use a consistent footprint, be safely restrained and stay within the rack’s verified load and center-of-gravity limits.

Agrack is a collapsible glass storage transport rack designed around that closed loop. It is not a universal container for arbitrary goods. For non-glass panels, the fit should be confirmed against material, dimensions, thickness, edge condition, load distribution, forklift pockets and any required lifting points before production.

Solar collector glass: can a non-window panel use Agrack?

Yes, a solar collector glazing or rigid collector panel can be a candidate when it is handled vertically and its size and weight are matched to the rack. The base, side uprights and rear stop create a defined support envelope, while the panel is kept away from direct steel contact by the rubber-lined bearing points. For a production line that handles one repeatable panel family, the rack can preserve unitized loading from line to warehouse without repacking each panel into disposable packaging. The engineering check remains essential: confirm panel geometry, inclination, center of gravity, restraint method and the applicable dynamic load before approving a stacking pattern.

Commercial refrigeration panels: how is vertical turnover kept from scratching?

Refrigeration door glass, insulated panels or finished cabinet components should be treated as a separate application, not mixed with the solar collector case. Where the component is rigid, flat and suitable for vertical support, Agrack’s protection concept addresses the contact points: the industrial EPDM buffer is 10 mm thick, has an internal steel plate and is mechanically secured with countersunk self-tapping screws rather than relying on adhesive. That reduces the risk of an ageing or displaced glued strip becoming a new damage source. Operators still need clean contact surfaces, controlled loading, properly tensioned straps and the required safety pin; the front stop must not be cut away or bypassed.

Vertical storage, same-size stacking and return: where the economics appear

The value appears only when four conditions are designed together: vertical storage, a consistent panel or rack footprint, verified stacking and empty-rack recovery. In a matched factory buffer, static force is intended to travel through the Q235 carbon-steel uprights and stacking cup feet rather than through the panel body. The reference configuration is 1,500 kg dynamic load and 4,500 kg static load, with stacking commonly planned up to three tiers; actual values and tiers must be confirmed for the project. After delivery, the side frames and rear stop fold toward the base. Empty units can be nested in high-density return stacks—project materials show seven- to eleven-unit arrangements and folded volume compressed to about 20–30% of the original—so the return leg can reduce paid air and release floor space. It is this repeatable loop, not folding alone, that can make the rack financially relevant.

What to specify before choosing a non-glass panel turnover rack

  • Material and dimensions: identify whether the solar collector or refrigeration component is rigid and vertically supportable, then provide length, width, thickness, edge details, center of gravity and the repeatable loading orientation.
  • Protection method: specify every steel-to-panel contact point; Agrack uses 10 mm steel-cored EPDM protection with mechanical screw fixing, but the final buffer profile and restraint still need to match the surface and edge condition.
  • Stacking basis: define loaded or empty stacking, required tiers and handling weight. Use the 1,500 kg dynamic and 4,500 kg static figures only as reference values until the project load path, uprights, cup feet and safety procedure are verified.
  • Return route: provide truck and container constraints, forklift entry requirements and whether lifting is needed. The collapsible design supports nested empty returns, while seven- to eleven-high recovery and container counts remain project-specific rather than universal.

Need to turn over solar collector glass, refrigeration doors or another rigid panel material? Submit the material, dimensions, weight, handling equipment and required stacking or return conditions. We will check whether Agrack fits the vertical turnover loop—and identify the conditions where another rack format is more appropriate.
