Vsfeeder | Flexible glass sheet handling
Plate handling lifterSheet vacuum lifter selection for a glass processor with mixed panel formats: how an adjustable H-frame suction cup loader and rotary jib arm connect glass rack loading with downstream production workstations.
A glass deep-processing plant rarely handles one repeatable panel format. Its production mix may include flat tempered glass, bent glass, laminated glass, insulating glass, fire-rated panels, and switchable glass. Width, thickness, surface condition, and the direction of the next process can change from one order to the next. In this environment, glass sheet handling is not simply a lifting problem; it is a repeated changeover problem between the storage rack, preparation table, tempering or insulating-glass line, and final workstation.
Manual glass handling can work for occasional movement, but it becomes a bottleneck when every batch needs a different pickup position. Carrying by hand requires coordinated operators, while a crane with sling or forklift glass handling can add clearance, positioning, or surface-contact issues. Dragging a panel across a table to correct alignment also increases the chance of scratches, edge impact, or dropped material. A flexible Plate handling lifterSheet vacuum lifter gives the operator a controlled vacuum pick and place sequence without turning every size change into a new dedicated lifting fixture.
Why mixed glass formats need an adjustable pickup pattern
Vsfeeder uses an H-frame suction cup layout rather than a permanently fixed four-point pattern. The cup positions can be adjusted to suit the panel width and the load distribution, and the suction cup quantity can be increased or reduced when the project requires it. For a glass processor handling both narrow pieces and larger panels, this makes the vacuum suction cup loader a configurable part of the work cell instead of a tool limited to one SKU. The selection still depends on panel weight, dimensions, surface flatness, and whether the surface can form a stable vacuum seal; laminated, insulating, bent, or textured products must be checked individually before release.

How the jib structure handles different process directions
The column mounted vacuum lifter is installed at a defined loading station. Its floor-mounted column supports a jib arm that can rotate through a project-defined working sector, such as the 270° rotation shown in the 14644 electric-hoist solution; 180° or 360° arrangements require separate confirmation. The operator first aligns the H-frame, starts vacuum suction, confirms attachment, raises the panel vertically clear of the support surface, and only then rotates or makes the short horizontal transfer. This sequence avoids using the suction cups as a dragging tool. For a representative 14644 configuration, the column is a 220 mm diameter seamless steel tube, 3.6 m high, with a 3 m thickened KBK rail boom, six Φ200 mm cups, and a fixed 0.5 t HHBB0.5-01 electric hoist rated for a 100 kg maximum load. Those figures are project evidence, not a universal rating for every Vsfeeder.
From glass rack loading to the next machine
At the work-cell level, the value is the repeatable material path: take a suitable panel from a GRACK glass storage rack or another board storage area, lift it clear, rotate toward the required orientation, and place it on the worktable or machine bed. The same logic supports glass tempering line loading, insulating glass line transfer, laser cutting loading, and CNC punch loading when the material and capacity are confirmed. The column-and-boom footprint keeps the transfer concentrated around a fixed station, while the adjustable cup layout covers more panel formats than a single-purpose hanger. For steel plate, aluminum plate, stone slab, or quartz slab handling, the surface seal, weight, center of gravity, and receiving equipment must be reviewed in the same way.

What to confirm before specifying the vacuum lifter
- Panel range: provide the maximum and minimum length, width, thickness, weight, center of gravity, and the mix of flat, bent, laminated, insulating, or coated products so the H-frame cup positions and quantity can be set for real loads.
- Pickup and release points: map the storage rack, worktable, machine bed, and required process orientation. The jib arm rotation sector must be selected around actual interference, not assumed to be 360°.
- Lift and utilities: choose an electric hoist or pneumatic cylinder after checking lift height, cycle frequency, 380 V / 50 Hz power availability, compressed-air capacity, and the required vacuum generator arrangement. The 14644 electric setup uses 7.2 m/min lifting speed and 1.1 kW power.
- Safety and maintenance: verify the floor foundation, clearance, vacuum confirmation procedure, hose routing, and spare-part plan. Seals, hoses, fittings, filters, and lifting tubes are wear items; the lifting tube is not covered by the standard one-year machine warranty.
