Hot dip galvanized pallet collar turns a standard pallet into a rigid, visible enclosure for precision component totes moving between workshops, helping contain the load, reduce loss and damage, and keep batch control practical.

In a precision manufacturing plant, totes of machined parts, stamped components, or assembly kits rarely stay in one place. They move from a machining cell to inspection, then to an interim warehouse storage position or the next production line. The handling problem is not simply finding a pallet. The unit load must remain contained when a forklift or pallet truck moves it through busy plant aisles, while operators still need to identify the contents and batch at a glance.

Open pallets and loosely arranged totes leave gaps around the load. Stretch wrap and pallet wrap can tear on corners, strapping can loosen after repeated handling, and corrugated boxes or wooden crates often hide the contents while adding disposable packaging work. When a tote shifts or a small component falls outside the marked unit, the result is a search, a damaged part, or a batch-management delay. For WIP storage and line-side parts feeding, that uncertainty is a direct containment and productivity problem.

Why stretch wrap and open totes lose control between workshops

A wire mesh pallet collar addresses the gap between a flat pallet and a fully enclosed container. Mfence clips onto the pallet as a bottomless design, so the pallet remains the load base while the surrounding fence creates a rigid outer boundary. That boundary constrains component totes during forklift handling and stacked transport instead of relying on film tension alone. The welded wire mesh also keeps the load visible: supervisors can check tote count, labels, and batch separation without cutting packaging open. This matters when several production orders share the same warehouse storage zone. The galvanized steel frame provides a more durable reusable metal pallet collar than disposable wrap, while the open top supports faster palletizing and routine replenishment. The result is transport containment that supports inventory visibility rather than trading one problem for another.

A pallet fence that closes the unit without hiding the load

The fit comes from the structure, not from a generic cage placed beside the pallet. The Mfence pallet fence uses a 1100 × 1100 pallet footprint, a 1000 mm effective height, and a 40 × 40 rectangular tube frame around welded wire mesh panels. The documented mesh is 4 mm wire with 100 × 100 openings, giving operators a clear sight line while forming a practical guard against displacement and routine external contact. Q235 steel construction and galvanized steel finishing support repeated industrial use; hot dip galvanized treatment is available where the unit must handle indoor and outdoor storage conditions. The clip-on or latch-on frame is tool-free to assemble, and its bottomless design lets the chosen pallet carry the load. Four-way fork entry makes the unit compatible with planned forklift handling from different approach directions, while stacking feet support stable two-layer storage when the workflow allows it.

Access and movement without breaking the containment plan

Containment should not force an operator to unload an entire unit for one tote. A half-opening door option with a 400 mm access opening allows controlled retrieval from the front, which is useful for line-side parts feeding and production line buffer positions. The inner-and-outer staggered double-hinge arrangement supports a defined opening path, while the latch keeps the fence closed during movement. With a self weight of approximately 47–48 kg, the collar is substantial enough for a rigid industrial enclosure but still practical for planned setup and return handling. When empty, the foldable or collapsible frame can be folded flat to reduce empty return volume. That makes the same reusable pallet surround useful for inbound material, WIP storage, finished component transfer, and collapsible for return logistics rather than a one-way packaging item.

Specify the pallet collar around the workflow

  • For precision component containment, define the pallet footprint first: the standard 1100 × 1100 format and 1000 mm effective height create a known enclosure around the tote stack instead of leaving an open side.
  • For inventory visibility and batch management, retain the welded wire mesh specification: 4 mm wire and 100 × 100 openings allow visual checks while the frame constrains loose items.
  • For forklift handling and racking storage, confirm four-way fork entry, stacking feet, and the permitted two-layer stack so the unit moves and stores as a controlled logistics unit load.
  • For line-side access and returnable packaging, select the 400 mm half-opening door and foldable frame option to retrieve material quickly and reduce empty return volume.
