A maintenance, kitting or line-side storeroom holds parts of every length and weight — and a single rigid bin only fits one slice of that range. A galvanized pallet collar built to the pallet and the part covers the whole SKU spread with a few configurable sizes.
One bin size never fits a mixed-SKU line
A maintenance, kitting or line-side storeroom holds hundreds of part numbers — bearings, shafts, castings, brackets — in lengths and weights that have nothing in common. A single rigid tote or fixed wooden collar only fits one slice of that range. Too small and the part rides loose or pokes through the mesh; too large and you waste cubic on air and the stack goes unstable. The usual workaround is a wall of cardboard box sizes, one per SKU family, which turns into corrugated waste and a picking labyrinth. Stretch wrap holds mixed heights poorly and offers no side access without cutting it away.
Why a customizable galvanized pallet collar fits the whole range
A galvanized pallet collar is built around the pallet and the load, not a fixed mold. The documented baseline is 1100×1100 with a 1000mm effective height, but the frame is adjustable — height, mesh and fittings change per SKU. Because it clips onto any standard pallet, one collar family spans Euro and non-Euro decks, so a mixed incoming pallet stream does not force a second packaging standard. Instead of stocking a bin for every part, you stock a few collar configurations.

Fittings that match the part, not the other way round
The Mfence collar uses a 40×40 rectangular steel tube frame with welded wire mesh — mesh 100×100, wire diameter 4mm — hot-dip galvanized for the oily, damp line-side environment. The options do the matching: a 400mm half-opening door for frequent pick of small parts without lifting the whole collar; latch or clip locks for transit security; and mesh or wire diameter chosen to the part, fine mesh for loose fittings, open mesh for bulky castings. Four-way fork entry lets crews move any size from any side with a forklift or pallet truck.

The result — one collar family, fewer packaging SKUs
Instead of a rack of one-size bins and a stream of per-SKU cartons, the storeroom runs a small set of collar configurations that cover the range. Line-side picking gets faster — open the half-door, grab the part — WIP storage stacks safely to 1000mm and folds flat to 140mm when empty, and the galvanized steel survives years of indoor-outdoor cycles. Mixed-part compatibility stops being a packaging problem and becomes a configuration choice.
