Cross-Border Automotive Packaging
A foldable pallet collar built entirely from galvanized steel carries no solid wood, so Mexico–US parts flows clear customs without ISPM 15 heat treatment, fumigation, or IPPC stamping—removing a recurring compliance cost and a customs-delay risk from the loop.

A Tier-1 automotive supplier running high-frequency Mexico–US lines moves the same parts across the border dozens of times a month. Every wooden crate and wooden pallet on that lane falls under ISPM 15, the international rule that solid wood packaging must be heat-treated or fumigated and carry a valid IPPC stamp. At that cadence, wood packaging stops being a box and becomes a recurring compliance job.
The ISPM 15 Burden on Wooden Packaging
Wooden crates and pallets must be heat-treated or fumigated, then stamped with the IPPC mark before they cross a border. Miss the stamp, and the load can be refused or held; a mismarked or counterfeit stamp—a “fake pallet” that looks treated but is not—can get a whole container rejected and fined. For a supplier with daily Mexico–US transfers, that is repeated treatment cost, repeated inspection exposure, and a customs-delay risk sitting on every shipment.
An All-Metal Foldable Pallet Collar Is Outside ISPM 15
The Mfence foldable pallet collar contains no solid wood. Its frame is Q235 steel with a welded wire mesh panel (4 mm wire, 100×100 mesh), hot dip galvanized for a durable surface—no bark, no pest risk, nothing for a phytosanitary inspector to quarantine. Under ISPM 15, all-metal packaging is exempt from the wood treatment and marking rules, so the collar moves between Mexico and the US with no heat treatment, no fumigation, and no IPPC stamp to forge or lose.

On a two-layer stackable, four-way fork entry unit, the same collar seats onto a standard 1100×1100 (Euro pallet size) base with a tool-free clip-on frame. Because it is metal, the loop carries no wood-compliance paperwork and no fake-stamp exposure—the kind of risk that derails a just-in-time cross-border schedule.
Fold Flat, Return, Repeat—Compliance-Free
When parts are unloaded, the collar folds flat to 2300×1100×140 mm at a 47–48 kg self weight, so empties ride back across the border as a small, metal, stamp-free load. A reusable metal collar survives hundreds of cross-border cycles, so the per-trip cost stays low while the ISPM 15 handling cost drops to zero. The result is a Mexico–US parts flow that clears customs without treatment delays, avoids fine and rejection exposure, and still supports the returnable, lower-waste packaging loop.
