Liquid Chemical Storage & Transfer
A collapsible pallet collar turns a standard pallet into a restrained, ventilated drum cage that cuts roll-and-impact leakage during liquid chemical storage and transfer—and pairs with a spill pallet for secondary containment.

A chemical plant moving solvent, acid, and cleaning-agent drums across the warehouse floor lives with two quiet risks: a drum that tips on a forklift run, and a slow seep that never trips a spill alarm until it reaches the floor. For plants under secondary-containment obligations, both risks turn into compliance findings rather than near-misses.
Stretch wrap and plastic banding hold a drum upright only until something pushes back. Wooden crates rot near spilled liquid and cannot be hosed down. None of these old methods restrain a 200 L drum from rolling, and none form a contained cell that a spill pallet can catch underneath.
Why Stretch Wrap and Wooden Crates Fall Short for Chemical Drums
Wrap and banding are film and straps, not structure. A wire mesh pallet collar—also called a pallet fence or wire cage pallet collar—surrounds the drum with a rigid frame so a side impact spreads across the cage instead of toppling the drum. Wooden collars swell and corrode in damp, chemical-exposed aisles; a galvanized steel collar shrugs off the same environment and stays serviceable through daily wash-down.

How the Mfence Collapsible Pallet Collar Restrains Drums
The Mfence collapsible pallet collar clips onto a standard 1100×1100 pallet (Euro pallet size) with a latch-on frame—no tools, no welding. Its bottomless design means the cage sits on the pallet, not the floor, so the drum load becomes a three-dimensional, pallet-to-container unit. The rectangular tube frame (40×40) and welded wire mesh panel (4 mm wire, 100×100 mesh, Q235 steel) form the rigid cage that buffers external impact and keeps drums from rolling into each other or off the pallet during stacked transport.
Built for Plant Floors: Galvanized Mesh, Half Door, Four-Way Fork Entry
For day-to-day drum access, a half-opening door (400 mm) lets crews draw or sample without lifting the whole cage. Four-way fork entry and a forklift entry limit keep handling square on a pallet truck or forklift. An effective height of 1000 mm and a 2-layer stackable design raise floor density, while the hot dip galvanized surface tolerates general corrosive atmospheres in routine plant storage. A clip lock keeps each panel seated through transfer, and the unit stays racking-compatible for aisle-to-rack moves.

Secondary Containment and Compliant Drum Handling
The collar itself restrains and cushions; paired with a leak-proof spill pallet, the assembly forms a secondary containment cell that catches what a drum seal cannot. That combination is what turns an open-aisle drum stack into a documented, inspectable containment setup. A stable stack and an enclosed guard also reduce the forklift-impact and tip-over incidents that drive most leakage findings, so the plant can show both restraint and catch capacity during an audit.
From Storage to Return: Fold Flat and Save Floor Space
When the drums move out, the collar folds flat—folded dimensions 2300×1100×140 mm at a self weight of 47–48 kg—so empty returns ride collapsible for cheap transport and the cage reclaims floor space instead of becoming dead racking. A reusable metal collar replaces disposable wrap and wooden crates, cutting both packaging waste and repeat purchase cost across returnable packaging cycles.
