Mgrack export logistics

a frame for glass transport that ships flat, stacks dense, and cuts empty-backhaul cost on cross-sea routes.

If your slabs or glass racks move between the UK mainland, North America, and other offshore markets, the real freight problem is usually not the outbound shipment. It is the wasted volume in the container and the cost of bringing empty racks back. A traditional welded dead frame eats space in a 40HQ, so the carrier moves air first and product second. On the return leg, the same oversized frame becomes an expensive empty box.

Mgrack solves that problem by making the transport rack itself a KD asset. The base and triangular supports bolt together, so the rack can work in service as a strong A frame and then collapse into a tighter flat-pack form when it is time to ship or reverse-logistics it. That is the difference between paying for steel and paying for space.

Why flat-pack wins on transoceanic routes

The disassembled components in this workshop image are the core commercial advantage, not a side effect. The slotted ends and bolt holes let the frame stack tightly before export, so the container carries rack volume efficiently instead of carrying empty air. In a standard or custom build, one 40HQ can load about 90 to 144 sets, and some structures can reach 180 sets. For export programs that run regularly to the UK mainland or North America, that is the kind of density that changes freight economics.

What the rack is built to do

Mgrack is built around a steel A frame with a welded base, triangular side supports, top lifting points, and handling features that keep the rack useful in the plant as well as in transit. Once the bolts are tightened, the rack gives a stable inclined support face for slabs or glass packs. Once the job is over, the same structure can be stripped back down and stacked with far less dead volume than a fixed welded rack.

The practical value is simple. A powder-coated steel frame gives the warehouse a clean, durable transport surface. The modular bolt-up layout helps procurement reduce return freight waste. The caster base and lifting lugs make it easier to move the rack inside the yard, onto the truck, and into the shipping plan without making the logistics team work around an oversized permanent cage.

From loading dock to loaded container

The container-loading image shows the moment that matters to export teams. The rack is compact enough to be handled as a shipment unit, but still robust enough to stay predictable in the loading process. That matters when the route includes multiple handling points, longer sailing times, or a return loop that would normally make empty-rack backhaul uneconomical.

Once the rack can be shipped flat, the same asset can support outbound deliveries, spare rack replenishment, and reverse logistics without turning every empty move into a cost problem. In practice, that means fewer wasted cubic meters, more sets per sailing, and a cleaner container plan for repeat projects. The rack stops being a bulky liability and becomes a reusable logistics tool.

What to specify before you place the order

  • Confirm your slab or glass panel dimensions so the A-frame angle, support spacing, and contact points match the load.
  • Confirm whether you need KD flat-pack delivery or assembled delivery; Mgrack is designed to bolt together and nest tightly for export.
  • Confirm your 40HQ loading target; the container plan should be built around 90 to 144 sets, or up to 180 where the structure allows.
  • Confirm mobility and handling details such as caster spec, lift points, and return-stack height so the rack fits your yard and backhaul route.

If you want a rack that ships denser, returns cheaper, and still handles slabs cleanly, send your load size and route. We will map the right Mgrack build for your freight model.
