Count the number of times your team touches a single Double Glazed Unit before it’s installed.
1. Off the sealing robot. 2. Onto a factory trolley. 3. Off the trolley. 4. Onto a delivery truck rack. 5. Off the truck…
Every touch is a risk. Every transfer is a labour cost that adds zero value to the product. The most profitable Glazing Contractors have adopted the “One-Touch” strategy: Load it once at the end of the line, and don’t touch it again until it’s ready to be glazed. To do this, you need the right Universal A-Frame Glass Racks.
The Hidden Cost of “Re-Racking”
In many glass factories, “Internal Racks” and “Transport Racks” are different species. Internal racks have wheels; transport racks are heavy welded triangles fixed to trucks. This disconnect forces your dispatch team to spend hours manually transferring heavy glass from one to the other.
This “Re-Racking” process is where 60% of factory breakage occurs. It’s also where back injuries happen. By switching to a hybrid Mobile A-Frame system, you bridge this gap. The same rack that sits at the end of your Insulated Glass Line is the same rack that gets forklifts onto the truck. You eliminate the transfer step entirely.
From Factory Floor to the Sidewalk
A true universal rack needs to master two environments: the smooth epoxy floor of the factory and the rough pavement of the delivery site.
We engineer our racks with high-performance Polyurethane Casters that offer low rolling resistance for your production staff. But crucially, these racks are built on a heavy-duty steel chassis with dedicated Forklift Channels. This means when the rack is fully loaded with 2 tons of glass, it can be safely lifted onto a flatbed or into a van, secured with transport straps, and driven across the country.

Designed for mobility: Ergonomic handles and heavy-duty casters turn a static load into a mobile asset.
Delivering Professionalism to Your Customer
Imagine the difference in your customer’s eyes. Instead of your drivers manually unloading loose sheets of glass on the roadside—blocking traffic and risking breakage—they simply lower a fully loaded, professional A-Frame rack off the tail lift.
The rack is wheeled neatly into the customer’s secure area. The glass is upright, organized, and safe. You can even leave the rack on-site as a “deposit” item, ensuring the Installation Team works from a stable base rather than leaning expensive glass against a drywall. This isn’t just logistics; it’s a premium service feature that justifies a higher price point.
Engineered for the “Loop”
For this system to work, the racks must be durable enough to survive the “logistics loop” again and again. Flimsy disposable racks won’t cut it.
Our racks feature Hot-Dip Galvanized options and Full Seam Welding to withstand the abuse of constant transport. The Rubber Profiles are industrial grade, designed not just to cushion, but to grip the glass during truck braking and cornering. It’s an asset that pays for itself by reducing your breakage bill to near zero.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I transport these racks on an open flatbed truck?
Yes. Our racks are designed with specific tie-down points for transport straps. The A-frame geometry is inherently stable, and when combined with our limit rods and ratchet straps, the load is secure for highway travel.
2. Do the wheels get damaged during transport?
We recommend using racks where the base frame sits on the truck bed, not the wheels, or using casters with brakes. For long-distance transport, we can design the base with forklift pockets that slightly elevate the wheels off the deck.
3. What happens if I leave the rack at a customer site?
Many of our clients operate a “rack deposit” system. The racks are durable assets. You can tag them with your company branding. Their durability means they can sit outside on a site for weeks without rusting, waiting for your next pickup.
4. How many double glazed units can one rack hold?
It depends on the thickness. A standard rack has a ledge depth of around 300mm to 400mm on each side. For standard 24mm units, you can safely load 10-15 units per side, provided the total weight stays within the 2,000kg limit.
5. Are the handles removable?
Yes, we offer models with detachable maneuvering handles. This is useful for shipping the racks themselves or if you need to fit the rack into a tighter space on a delivery vehicle.
