For **Stonemasons** and **Facade Cladding Contractors**, the physical toll of the job is undeniable. Manually lifting polished granite slabs or steel composite panels is slow, dangerous, and prone to material damage. A chipped corner on a marble slab can cost thousands in replacement and delays.

While known as a **Glass Robot**, this equipment is a versatile vacuum manipulator essential for modern masonry. Equipped with a heavy-duty hydraulic arm and adjustable suction frame, it allows a single operator to lift, tilt, and position heavy stone and steel cladding with the same finesse used for fragile glass. It turns a back-breaking three-person lift into a precise one-person operation.

Beyond Glazing: The Multi-Material Advantage

Your projects often involve a mix of materials. You might be installing a glass curtain wall one week and a rainscreen cladding system the next. Renting different machines for each task is inefficient.

The Gstruck robot is designed as a universal carrier for non-porous construction materials. The vacuum system creates a powerful seal on polished stone (granite, marble) and metal plates (steel, aluminum, sandwich panels). By adjusting the position of the suction cups on the frame, you can accommodate long, narrow cladding strips or wide, heavy slabs, ensuring high utilization of the asset across the entire duration of the project.

Telescopic boom reach allows for cladding installation on upper tiers.

Precision Alignment for Grout Lines

In high-end stonework, consistency is key. Grout lines must be perfectly straight. Achieving this with manual lifting is exhausting, as workers struggle to hold the weight while making fine adjustments.

With the robot’s **Curtis Control System**, the operator has millimeter-level control over the load. You can side-shift the slab left or right by a fraction of an inch to align the grout joint perfectly before setting it. This mechanical stability holds the stone in place while you apply fixings or spacers, ensuring a finish quality that manual handling simply cannot match.

Handling Steel Composite Panels

Industrial cladding often uses large Steel Sandwich Panels or Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP). These are lightweight but unwieldy due to their surface area, acting like sails in the wind.

The robot’s vacuum grip distributes the holding force across the panel surface, preventing the bending or “oil-canning” that can occur with point-loading from manual grips. The powered rotation head allows you to pick up a panel horizontally from a stack and rotate it 90 degrees to vertical for installation, streamlining the workflow from delivery truck to building facade.

Robust hydraulic arm structure supports heavy stone loads without deflection.

Built for the Dust and Debris of Masonry Sites

Stone cutting creates dust, and masonry sites are notoriously gritty. Equipment needs to be robust. The Gstruck robot features a sealed electric drive system and a **Q235A steel chassis** that withstands the harsh reality of a stonemason’s yard. Unlike delicate warehouse pickers, this machine is built to drive over stone chips and dust without fouling its drive motors, providing reliable service in aggressive environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can it lift rough or textured stone?

The standard suction cups are designed for smooth, polished surfaces (like polished granite or marble). For textured, flamed, or honed stone, we recommend using specialized closed-cell foam suction pads to ensure a proper vacuum seal.

2. Will the vacuum pads leave marks on the stone?

No. We use high-quality silicone rubber pads that are non-marking. They will not leave oil stains or black rings on porous natural stone, which is critical for high-end architectural finishes.

3. What is the maximum thickness of slab it can handle?

The limit is determined by weight, not thickness. As long as the total weight of the slab stays within the machine’s load chart (e.g., 600kg or 800kg depending on model), the machine can handle thick granite blocks or thin cladding veneers equally well.

4. Can it rotate a long cladding panel?

Yes. The hydraulic head features continuous rotation. You can pick up a long horizontal panel and rotate it to vertical for installation. For very long panels, extension arms can be added to the suction frame to support the ends and prevent flexing.

5. Is the machine resistant to stone dust?

Yes. The drive motors and electrical components are enclosed. However, as with any equipment in a dusty environment, we recommend blowing out the air filters and vacuum pump intake with compressed air regularly to maintain peak performance.
