As a Sintered Stone Distributor, you know the nightmare: a container of 6mm slabs arrives from Italy, and three of them have hairline cracks. Why? Because you treated them like 3cm granite. Unlike natural stone, Large Format Porcelain and sintered slabs have almost zero flexibility. If your transport rack twists on a bumpy road, your slab snaps.
The Collapsible Glass Storage Transport Rack bridges the gap between stone and glass logistics. It offers the heavy load capacity needed for stone but with the torsion-resistant steel structure and precision padding required for delicate ultra-compact surfaces.
The “Flex” Factor: Why Wood Fails
Traditional wooden A-frames are fine for granite because granite has mass and thickness. But for large format Sintered Stone Slabs (often 3.2m x 1.6m and only 6mm thick), rigidity is everything. A wooden frame flexes as the truck turns. That flex transfers torque directly into the slab, causing immediate breakage or stress fractures that fail during fabrication.
We build our racks with industrial Q235 Carbon Steel welded into a rigid box structure. This ensures that the rack remains perfectly stiff, isolating the slabs from the chassis twist of the delivery truck. Your slabs arrive at the fabricator flat, stress-free, and ready to cut.

Our steel-core rubber base provides a non-compressible, perfectly level foundation, essential for supporting large-format thin slabs without bowing.
Grip the Slickest Surfaces
One operational challenge with engineered stone is that it is slippery. Unlike rough-sawn marble, a polished porcelain slab can slide easily against standard carpet or wood dunnage during a hard stop. Sliding leads to chipping.
Our solution utilizes a rubber strip with an internal steel core. This high-friction surface grips the bottom edge of the slab firmly. Combined with our integrated securing straps and solid steel load retention poles, we ensure that the entire pack moves as a single solid unit, preventing the “domino effect” of slabs slapping against each other.
Import Logistics: Unloading the Container
Most large format slabs are imported. Unloading a container of loose slabs or poorly crated material is slow and dangerous.
Our racks are designed for Container Loading efficiency. You can load the racks fully at the factory. When the container arrives at your distribution center, you simply forklift the entire rack out. No manual handling of loose slabs, no crane rigging inside a dark container. You can unload a 40ft container in 20 minutes instead of 4 hours.
Showroom Ready Presentation
Your customers are architects and designers. They want to see the full slab. Stacking slabs flat on pallets makes them impossible to view.
Our A-frame design holds the slabs vertically, allowing for easy “flip-through” viewing in your warehouse or showroom. Because the rack is hot-dip galvanized (optional) or powder-coated, it looks professional and clean, enhancing the perceived value of your premium surfaces compared to a dirty, splintered wooden frame.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can this rack handle 3200x1600mm jumbo slabs?
Yes. We offer extended-length models specifically designed for Jumbo Sintered Stone and Porcelain slabs, ensuring full support along the entire bottom edge to prevent sagging.
2. Is it safe to transport 3mm thick slabs?
Absolutely. The key to 3mm slabs is rigidity. Our stiff steel frame prevents flexing, and when combined with proper strapping to our retention poles, 3mm slabs are secure.
3. How many slabs can one rack hold?
It depends on the thickness. For 12mm slabs, a rack typically holds 15-20 slabs per side. For 6mm slabs, capacity doubles. The rack is rated for 2,000kg total load.
4. Does the rack scratch the polished face of the slab?
No. The vertical side posts are lined with non-marking rubber or can be fitted with wood protective blocks to ensure the polished face of your slab never touches bare metal.
5. Can I stack these racks to save warehouse space?
Yes. When fully loaded with slabs, our heavy-duty racks can be stacked up to 3 tiers high, tripling your inventory density for these large-footprint materials.
